Dear Neighbors and Fellow Members:
The holiday season is here again, as we realize this year has gone by so quickly. As always, we find that there are some unfinished projects facing us that we just could not complete. However, looking on the positive side, we find many accomplishments that we have achieved over the year.
We scored 5 out of 5 on our Annual Inspection by the MS Dept. of Health. We are working on putting in new wells and are in the process of drilling test wells. We painted 300 gallon tank at well 4 and 10,000 gallon tank at well 6. We put in 1600 feet of line on 469 North to move line from woods to road. We fixed a line on 469 South and put it in a casing where it had washed out a the creek crossing. We relocated 200 feet of pipe for the state to relocate storm drain at Hopewell and 469. We relocated the bypass line on Shorter Road to do away with line that ran through the woods and other small projects.
We have a new website, www.harrisvillewater.com. Our Consumer Confidence Reports for the last 3 years are available there. This letter is also being posted there. Our website will save us money in printing and postage. In the future, we will be posting our CCR Reports there instead of publishing in the newspaper. We will also be posting member letters there.
Charles Prince, CPA presented our Financial Audit at our Annual Meeting in August. We are happy to report that there were no issues or discrepancies. If you would like to see the audit it is available at our office. Please contact Tammy for your copy.
According to the MS Rural Water Association, 33% loss is the average. Our average loss this year was a little over average at 36%. We appreciate you, the members, for informing the office of any system leaks that you have found and might find in the future. Our water is a precious commodity that should not be wasted.
If you have not signed up for our Remind my Customers Program, please do so immediately. It is very important that we be able to contact you regarding Boil Water Notices, emergencies, and other important events. You can be contacted via phone call, text message and/or e-mail. Please call Tammy at the office to sign up for this program.
We now have 145 customers who are paying their bills by bank draft. This is a service that many members have asked for and are taking advantage of. We welcome all ideas to help improve your safe drinking water system. We thank you for your continued support and hope that you and your families are healthy, safe, and warm during this Holiday Season.
